Whimsy Stamps "12 Days of Christmas" event....salt dough ornaments or tags!!

Hello everyone!! I have a super fun post to share today! It is for the.....

For all the details and how to win prizes please visit the Whimsy Blog

I have seen this on Pinterest for many years and finally have decided to make some.....Salt dough ornaments!! They are so pretty and so easy to make. Warning I have a lot of pictures.....:)

My daughters birthday is the 17th so I had to make a few for her. I will list all the products I used at the end of my post.

After you bake them I painted some with Distress inks. I also stamped the image before baking with Vintage Photo.

These I embellished with some flowers.

Now these I used some Whimsy dies. I treated it like a stamp and used some Distress ink and lightly pressed it into the dough. The one on the upper left I painted with Distress inks after I baked them.

After you are done baking, stamping and painting I sprayed them with a sealer. You don't have to but I wanted the painted ink to stay in place.

Here is a list of all the products I used. There is a lot.....:)

Whimsy products:

Holiday Circle Postmarks....oops...they don't have this set anymore but this one would look wonderful too.....Snowflake mini letter seals
Winter's Jewel 1 die....GORGEOUS die

A lot I know!!
Here is the recipe I used to make the dough.

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water

Bake at 200 degrees for awhile. Some of mine took hours. You can also let them air dry overnight or for a few days.

I hope you will give these a try they are so versatile and fun to make!!

I also made these super cute teacher gifts in my previous post. If you would like to learn more about them click here!!

Thanks for visiting my blog!!
Cindy
